Blogging for fun and profit

Here’s another marketing idea, but I have no notion how well — or not so well — this might work.

Take a look at Blogit . The premise is simple: everyone pays to join Blogit, writers and readers alike. Half the money you pay to join is distributed amongst the writers you read, the other half goes to Blogit.

Of course, the real question is how many people are willing to pay to read blogs when so many are available for free? How many writers end up making back even a fraction of what they spend, or is this simply a "vanity blog"?

For those out there who, like me, are constantly on the lookout for markets, here’s one to try. I haven’t had any personal experience with them, but from what I’ve read, they seem legit.

This is a little different. You set the price and wait for a buyer, but be sure to set the price high enough, since you’ll be splitting the money with the site owners.

One thing I think may be important here is to make an effort to write something unique. There’s enough competition on this site, including a lot of people willing to write for free, so you’ll really have to work at distinguishing yourself from the herd.
