I keep a list of paying markets at http://writersguidelines.blogspot.com/ – Only paying markets. Typically ones I’d be willing to submit to (or have submitted to), so heavy on poetry. And only markets that accept email submissions. There’s not many posts as yet, but it’s growing as I add more markets.

No bodybuilder became strong by just thinking about lifting weights. If you want to strengthen your writing skills and develop your writing ability then you simply need to write. Write as much as you can, as often as you can. You don’t always have to be writing articles for publication – sometimes you may feel like simply writing your own private thoughts down. But the more you write, the better your writing is likely to become.

I find I mistype ‘an’ and ‘and’. I think my fingers just want to put a ‘d’ at the end.

Two big ones are their and there and hear and here.

And it’s easy to get tripped up on effect and affect.

And spell check can’t help you with these.

A good tool to monitor your productivity status. I actually tried it once and already got some blank pages coming. This is ideal for committed writer, for those who are not, then goodluck for some disappointments.
