Sometimes I need a little something to get me writing, and pictures can be just the thing to help with that. Here are a few pictures that might get you going as well.
- Where is this sunrise occurring?
- Who’s taking the picture and why?
- Is this on another planet, an earth far different from our own?

- Why is there a statue built to honor this person, and who is it?
- Why the robe?
- Whose the person with his back to this person’s? Are they friends or enemies?

- Who lives here, and what sort of life might they lead?
- Why would a fort like this still exist in the modern world? What would the people who choose to live this way be like?
- What would these people think if they were suddenly thrust into the modern world? What kinds of conflicts would they experience?

- This is a close-up of my wildflower garden from last summer. It’s also a small graveyard for our pets. What sort of stories does that conjure up for you?
Sometimes it’s nice to have something to get started, and since I tend to be very visual, pictures are a good choice for me. Sorry about the mediocre quality of these, but I’ve been trying out my camera phone (and enjoying it quite a bit).
When I write, I usually don’t like to start off a story or novel with a lot of description. I prefer to begin with action, conflict and a bit of mystery and work the descriptions in as I go. I know a lot of writers disagree with me though, so your mileage may vary.
