Here’s the promised post, with lots of pics.Let me give you a little update first.
Now that I’m feeling better and things are normal (well, as much as they usually are around here), I hope to get back on a regular posting schedule. Now, for some pics. Enjoy!

Here is the shawl my secret pal sent for my birthday. Isn’t it gorgeous? The color is a little more rose than the picture shows here. Very pretty!.

This shot gives a good view of the lace. Isn’t it pretty? The shawl is more rose and less purple as it came out in the photo.

Yes, that is my dog’s butt in the top of the photo. For whatever reason, she “joins” each picture like that! At the top you see a skein of pretty fall-colored yarn. She actually sent two, but one has already found its way onto the needles. To the right, a chocolate bar (love chocolate!), and then a skein of handspun similar to what she sent last time. This is more baubled and has a metallic yarn twisted throughout. It’s very pretty yarn — I think a scarf or maybe a hat? Beneath that are some really cute ballerina slippers made from a dark brown yarn with red ties. Then, a bath bomb, and of course, the book. That was a handy gift — I’ve always got a skein or two of yarn lying around, so having some small projects to work it up into is a good idea.

At the top left, you can see a hat and wristwarmers to match. Very cute! My office is freezing in the winter, so I think these will get some use. That small brown skein is cashmere! Wonderfully soft and very, very pretty. At the bottom left is a very cute card!!
Thanks!! You are a great knitter! Everything you’ve sent is so cute and well done.

If you don’t remember Hee Haw, then count yourself lucky poor you. My dad was a big fan, which meant we watched it every weekend.
We had family in last week, and that was lots of fun. I finished up a pair of socks while they were here and gave them to my aunt. She was surprised but was really pleased with them. I just love knitting for people who really enjoy getting the gifts. Don’t you?
The day they left, we saw the new Spiderman movie. My husband loves spiderman, which means we see all the movies, multiple times. I thought the movie was a bit of a slow starter, but it was good overall. Spoiler warning!! I really liked that Harry redeemed himself at the end, but I was upset that he died. What’s the deal with that? I think he’s arguably a more interesting character than Peter Parker, but for goodness sakes, don’t tell my husband.
I’m terribly behind on blogging, but I have a good excuse. I’ve got a wisdom tooth going (well, gone) bad, and the damn thing is killing me. I’ve got an appointment to get it out, and I’m popping pills to deal with it, but I really don’t feel well. Funny how something so small can make you so miserable.
I’ve gotten a fantastic package from my secret pal, but I just don’t feel up to doing the pics tonight. I’ll enlist my husband’s help and get them up tomorrow. The stuff is very pretty, so you’ll definitely want to see the pictures! Lots of hand knit goodness too, which I love.
Hopefully I’ll feel better after getting a little more antibiotic in me (and maybe a touch more pain medicine too…). I owe you lots of updates, pics and responses to comments. Let’s not even talk about how much blog reading I need to do. Thanks for sticking with me!
